Friday 8th January

Vigilant readers may notice that I’ve dropped a clanger with regard to the days already. It’s fixed now, so ner-ner-ner.

Apart from being sent home from work for the FIRST TIME EVER not a great deal happened, but we headed home in high spirits in the blizzard. Upon our arrival, I lost a snowball fight against a small child, pushed a Vauxhall Vectra up a frozen incline using the power of my will, and built (another) snowman.

Then, of course, in the darkness, we went sledging. It was brilliant, but the weather got worse and worse until it was unbearable (and my niece needed a wee). With the wee had, we were given a demonstration on the snowy hill climbing skills of ‘Pepe’ the Peugeot, which were genuinely impressive. Pepe later tried one snowy trip too many and committed hari-kari on a wall.

The weather almost put the brakes on parmo night as well, so the nice people at Munchies in Eston delivered ours on foot. May God bless their souls (or Vishnu, or whoever)!
